Abstract :

There are several research works that have studied the impact of mobility models on the performance of routing protocols in MANETs.  This paper presents a review of such works done in the last several years.  The routing protocols commonly used are DSDV, AODV and DSR.  The commonly used mobility models are Random Way Point (RWP), Gauss Markov (GM), Manhattan Grid (MG) and Reference Point Group Mobility (RPGM).  Typical performance metrics used are Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR), end to end delay and throughput.  Almost all research works have used NS-2 as a simulation tool.  The survey may serve as a guideline for choosing a routing protocol for a given mobility model and MANET parameters.
