Abstract :

thermal design of shell and tube heat exchanger for different size and requirement become very time consuming and complicated. Despite of such a long time consuming designing procedure the final design obtain is not optimum, heat exchanger rate is less comparatively and moreover the space required is also felt more. In this paper an attempt is made to develop software for thermal design of shell and tube heat exchanger so that thermal design become very fast accurate, and more optimum in terms of number of tubes, baffle spacing and allowable pressure drop to achieve maximum heat transfer coefficient and minimum heat transfer area, which is not possible In case of manual calculation.
